Meet Megan Niehauser

LPCC, RPT™, EMDR Trained

Certified Synergetic Play Therapist

Child, Adolescent, and Young Adult Therapist at Conscious Roots Counseling

Megan has always greatly enjoyed working with children and has done so in various settings throughout her life. It didn't take long for her to recognize that supporting children was her lifelong goal. Megan has worked specifically with children and families in the mental health field since 2017. She supports children, ages 3–12, with their big feelings and big behaviors. More specifically, Megan works with children experiencing challenges related to anxiety, depression, inattention, major life changes, grief and loss, anger management, and current and/or past trauma. Megan also collaborates with parents, helping them make sense of their child's big feelings and big behaviors by utilizing a brain and nervous system approach.

Megan is certified in Synergetic Play Therapy. Synergetic Play Therapy is a research-informed model of play therapy combining the therapeutic powers of play with nervous system regulation, interpersonal neurobiology, physics, attachment, mindfulness, and therapist authenticity. Megan successfully completed The Baffling Behavior Training Institute's Immersion Program for Professionals, a professional program developed by Robyn Gobbel. This program is grounded in brain and nervous system science and teaches science-backed tools to promote regulation, connection, and felt safety.

Hi, I’m Megan!

I work to establish a therapeutic relationship that ensures trust, safety, and the acceptance to be just who you are. I like to weave in bits of information pertaining to brain and nervous system science to normalize the human experience and provide comfort in connection. I believe that when we understand the brain, honor the nervous system, and prioritize connection, meaningful change naturally follows.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, daughter, and dog, Milo. I enjoy hiking, cycling, and eating my favorite food, pizza.
